Restoring Dignity Foundation is an activism organization formed by people born and raised in Korogocho community with urge to see implementation of Article 43 of Kenyan 2010 constitution. Founded in 2020 to empower the most vulnerable – the elderly, women, girls, and people with disabilities. We believe in the transformative power of compassion, resilience, and unwavering hope.
Our mission is to restore dignity and well-being to the lives of those facing hardship in Korogocho. We achieve this through a multifaceted approach, providing essential services, advocating for equal rights, and fostering a supportive community.
Boma bora: We offer a safe haven for elderly residents, providing comfortable living quarters, nutritious meals, healthcare access, and a vibrant social center.
Afya Mashinani: We address critical health needs by distributing sanitary hygiene products, mosquito nets, and facilitating access to healthcare services for seniors.
Education and Skill Development: (Future Initiative) We envision empowering individuals, particularly youth, with the knowledge and skills needed to build a brighter future.
Haki vitongojini: Our "Able Differently" program utilizes art forms like comic strips and performances to raise awareness about discrimination and advocate for the rights of people with disabilities.
Hatua yetu: We believe in collective action. We build partnerships, organize events, and advocate for policies that promote well-being and equal opportunities for all in Korogocho.
