A Message From Our Founder

Founder

My dear friends, I stand before you today not in triumph, but in humility. This is not a celebration of me—it is a confession of the pain I have seen, the struggles I have lived, and the responsibility I can no longer ignore.

I want to inspire people. I want to hear someone say, “I never gave up because of you.” But before inspiration, there must be truth. And the truth is that too many have been forgotten, too many have been broken, too many have been denied dignity.

This moment is dedicated to the elderly who have been neglected, left to fade in silence. It is dedicated to the domestic workers who endure abuse and indignity, yet still rise each morning to serve. It is dedicated to the mothers of Korogocho, who raised me with love even when life gave them little else.

It is dedicated to my family—who survived on my father’s meagre salary, yet never let me feel poor in love. And to that green grocery woman, who made sure we had something to eat when hunger threatened to steal our hope.

It is dedicated to Kairos Youth, the group that moulded me into who I am today. To the human rights fraternity, who showed us the way and reminded us that justice is not optional—it is necessary. To the committed staff and volunteers of this foundation, whose sacrifices prove that all is not in vain.

And it is dedicated to the young mothers and single mothers, who sacrifice daily to put something on the table. To you, I say: there is light at the end of the tunnel. Your struggle is not unseen, and your courage is not forgotten.

I cannot forget these faces. I cannot forget these tears. And I cannot forget the promise I made—that one day, I would pay back.

The Restoring Dignity Foundation is born out of remorse—for the times we looked away, for the times we failed to protect, for the times we allowed injustice to thrive. It is a home for the homeless, a refuge for the abandoned, a sanctuary for the forgotten.

Here, we will not only restore dignity—we will restore hope. We will restore humanity. We will restore the belief that no one is too small to matter, and no one is too broken to be healed.

Welcome to the Restoring Dignity Foundation. Welcome to a movement that begins with sorrow, but ends with redemption.

Who We Are

The Restoring Dignity Foundation is an activism organization born during the COVID-19 pandemic—a time when communities faced health crises, social inequalities, and economic hardships. Out of this struggle, we rose to restore dignity where it had been eroded.

We are a community-driven movement that believes dignity is the foundation of justice, wellness, and empowerment. Our work spans housing, gender equity, climate and social justice, health and wellness, and education. We stand with youth, women, elders, incarcerated individuals, reformists, and grassroots communities, ensuring no one is left behind.
